Climate change in High Latitudes - 10-Year Anniversary Conference
Bergen, Norway

The conference is meant to summarise current knowledge on past, present and future climate changes of the high latitudes in both hemispheres. Climate change is amplified in high latitudes. High latitudes interact with lower latitudes and a number of key processes of global significance are involved.

The Conference will cover both empirical studies and modeling studies (e.g. results from the CMIP5 and CORDEX experiments).
The Scientific Programme Committee has set up a broad range of topics to be covered by invited and contributing oral presentations and poster sessions.

There will be a series of social events in the programme (included in the conference fee), and we expect projects and organisations to hold side events or workshops before and after the main Conference. The conference is also a unique opportunity to experience Norwegian nature and culture, be it before, during, or after the official programme.

Conference themes

  • Climate variability, sensitivity, thresholds and predictability
  • Coupling between climate and biogeochemical cycles
  • Climate projections and ecosystem responses
  • Ocean, ice, atmosphere, land surface processes
