Doris Fuchs has been director of the Research Institute for Sustainability (RIFS) since 2023 and heads it together with director Prof. Dr. Mark Lawrence in a dual leadership role. She is also professor of sustainable development at the University of Münster and a member of the board of directors of the Center for Interdisciplinary Sustainability Research (ZIN) there. She studied politics and economics in the USA and received her doctorate from Claremont Graduate University in California in 1997. Her career includes positions at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, Leipzig Graduate School of Management, and the University of Stuttgart.
