Prof. Dr Mark Lawrence is Managing Scientific Director at the Research Institute for Sustainability – Helmholtz Centre in Potsdam. The physicist as well as earth and atmospheric scientist received his doctorate from the Georgia Institute for Technology in 1996. From 2000 to 2011, he headed various research groups at the Max Planck Institute for Chemistry in Mainz. In 2009 and 2010, he taught as a substitute professor of metrology at the University of Mainz. In 2014, he was awarded an honorary professorship at the University of Potsdam.
