Scientiests at MPI-M develop and analyse highly complex earth system models, which simulate the processes in the air, on land and in the ocean. Such models are important tools for climate research. They can tell us about future climatic changes and their probabilities. Climate model calculations form the basis for societal and political decisions today, whether it is to protect the climate or for adaptation measures. The climate models developed at the MPI-M belong to the most internationally renowned.
