Civil society in climate forums: the challenges to building consensus around climate justice

The critical role that civil society plays in ensuring ambitious and just climate action is often unacknowledged, undermined and in many countries, repressed. The presentation will explore the experiences of civil society actors in some key climate fora and processes, internationally and nationally, and identify the barriers and challenges in building truly democratic, participatory and just approaches to achieving climate justice. The presentation is held by Tasneem Essop, the current Executive Director of Climate Action Network (CAN).
